Root Food + Wine is a rustic yet elegant, boutique restaurant in the heart of Missouri Wine Country, just up from the Katy Trail, in downtown historic Augusta, Missouri. It offers a locally sourced pre-fix dining experience, either inside the nostalgic 1905 vintage home or outside herb gardens, located on the grounds of Oaks Crossing.

I worked in a restaurant where Chef Day was head chef before opening Root. A few years later while visiting a friend in Augusta, MO we stumbled upon Root. I reconnected with Chef Philip and we discussed their recent opening. I spend the next 9 months filming and editing this piece together about Root.
